Timothy Parlatore joined the Law Offices of Eric Franz as an associate in January, 2009, having previously worked for Edward W. Hayes, P.C.
A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Tim served as the Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection Officer and Assistant Legal Officer onboard USS NORMANDY through two deployments to the Middle East. He was a member of the US Navy Marksmanship Team for five years and developed the first ever Navy shipboard sniper teams. In addition to his combat training, Tim received extensive training and experience in engineering. He graduated from the US Navy Advanced Gas Turbine Engineering Course and worked as an engineering officer. While in law school, Tim continued his service in the reserves as the Commanding Officer of NSF LaMaddalena, a military security and police detachment in the Bronx. He currently maintains a commission as a Lieutenant in the Naval Reserve.
After leaving active duty, Tim attended Brooklyn Law School. While in law school, Tim competed in numerous mock trial competitions and was named to the Moot Court Honor Society, Trial Advocacy National Team for two straight years. At graduation, he was awarded the Judge Doris A. Thompson and Judge Edward Thompson Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy. He continues to volunteer as a guest coach/judge to assist and teach law students skills in trial advocacy.
Prior to joining Eric Franz, Tim worked for veteran defense attorney Edward W. Hayes. There, he gained extensive experience working high-profile cases, including racketeering, insurance fraud, civil rights, personal injury, employment discrimination, contract disputes, divorce and child custody/support issues. He has gained a reputation for thorough investigations and client relations.
Most recently, Tim won a directed verdict after a two week jury trial in Manhattan Supreme Court, defending an accountant accused of diverting corporate assets.
Tim is admitted to practice in the State of New York, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the United States Navy-Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals, the United States Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. He is a member of the Federal Bar Council and the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
